First Visit and Exercise Clearance
Rossmoor residents are required to complete a Waiver of Liability and a PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) at their first visit to the fitness center. The PAR-Q is a simple, 7 question self-assessment highlighting any medical conditions or physical inabilities an individual may need to speak to their physician about prior to starting an exercise program, and that the trainer may need to take into consideration during training. The PAR-Q helps reduce the risk of injury, illness, and accidents. After completing the waiver and PAR-Q, residents are free to use the facility on their own.
Group Exercise Classes
Due to the popularity of Tice Creek Fitness Center complimentary group exercise classes, entry tickets are required. The ticket pick up process opens 15 minutes prior to the start of class at the front desk. You are only allowed one ticket (do not pick up a ticket for another resident) Entry to class is not allowed without a ticket.
Fitness Orientations
Rossmoor residents are provided with a complimentary “2 hours of orientation time” each calendar year. We encourage all new fitness center attendees to meet with a personal trainer to help familiarize yourself with what the Center has to offer and to help tailor an exercise program to your personal needs. This “2 hours of time” can be broken down into two (2) 60-minute appointments or four (2) 30-minute appointments. All NEW residents are required to start with the 60-minute Welld Health appointment this comprehensive assessment will test the following: Balance, posture, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, blood pressure and heart rate. This allows your personal trainer to assess your goals, abilities, and exercise and health history, and helps the trainer provide a more personalized program.
